My Chocolate Lab, 6yr. 2 CCL tears in both knees. Stopped enjoying being a happy, energetic dog. Wouldn’t play with our other dog’s anymore. AMAZING experience. We brought my black lab here when she was around 8-9 years old. She had torn her CCL and was barely putting weight on her leg. Our vet was very honest and told us surgery would be expensive, and may not even work since our girl is very active and could re-injure herself while in recovery. He recommended My Pet’s Brace to us. We live in Brooklyn, NY, so we took the ride out. The staff were all so nice and helpful. When the straps wore out, they sent us new ones for free, and the brace held up very well throughout her usage. Our dog, Brooke, wore her brace for around 8-12 months. During the first few months we listened to their instructions of when to wear it, and eventually we phased her out of wearing it. Now, she walks almost as if she was never even injured. Our dog ruptured his left rear cruciate ligament and the vet determined he wasn’t a good candidate for surgery. He was having a hard time getting around only using 3 legs. We began our search for options to help him have the best outcome possible. Luckily we found My Pet’s Brace. The reviews of other’s were all positive so we decided to give it a shot. From the first call to our final fitting appointment to say the customer service was outstanding is an understatement. Everyone there truly cares about your pet as if it is their own. The entire process took around 2 weeks and during that time Mason’s leg was already having muscle loss and his quality of life was suffering. He’s a very active little man and not being able to get around comfortably was taking its toll. He went for his fitting exactly 5 days ago and almost immediately after having his brace put on he began using the leg again. During the past 5 days we’ve been doing the on leash slow walking and the results are amazing! He’s improving daily and already walking 100 times better. He’s taken to wearing the brace better than expected. He’s already figured out it’s helping and looks for it to be put on when he gets up in the morning. We used this practice for an ACL tear on our 10 year old lab. Our vet told us about the surgery for repair, $8500.00 and 32 weeks of limitations. My dog could not deal with that situation. We have used the brace for 15 months, it has been so easy. She is not running at her usual speed anymore, but her quality of life is great. What we decided to do is to brace the leg all the time she is outside. We purchased a second brace for her. $900.00 I am still ahead money wise. We were devastated when our 12 1/2 year-old 50 pound dog severed her ACL. After meeting with an orthopedic surgeon and learning about the surgery and recovery we did not feel this was the best option. I had no clue this place even existed! I rescued a cat with an injured paw. It was smashed by some type of accident prior to me knowing him. He had a pressure wound from walking on his ankle because his foot healed crooked. Amputating was not an option. My vet referred me to My Pet’s Brace.

My wife and I were on the fence about performing CCL surgery for our beloved Oliver. He was 12 years old when he injured his left CCL. Historically, he was extremely active (yes, you could call him hyper ;-). The prospects of going through surgery at 12, combined with required crate rest / inactivity post-surgery along with a formal rehab program were not something we felt was going to work for him.
Fortunately, we had a vet who recommended My Pet’s Brace. Our dog took to the brace quite well. We walked him with it for a 6 to 9 month period. After 9 months he was walking without the brace. So glad we found My Pet’s Brace. Our active 7 yo lab/pit mix had TPLO surgery on his left hind leg and less than a year later he tore the right side leg, too. I recently adopted a dog who was missing a front paw. I was interested in a prosthetic because I was very concerned about arthritis and other structural issues to his hips and spine. Let me start off with a big shout out to Chris and his beautiful wife Megan they are Absolute Angels they are so patient such a loving couple. Peggy Sue the love of my life had her front leg amputated 2 years ago I looked searched talked to everyone I know in Texas and outside of Texas to help me have her walk again with a prosthetic there was nowhere no one that could help me unless I wanted to go out of state and of course with any prosthetic you have to have adjustments tweaking here and there when I noticed that My Pet’s Brace in Round Rock Texas was now offering those services let me tell you Grandma came out of her skin I was so super excited so super stoked I called the moment they opened that following morning. Next thing you know they were casting her and getting ready to construct her prosthetic. It’s been a little over a month since we started the process since then we have taken the leg home practice taking her back had it adjusted now we’re back home again practicing and she’ll have another appointment in a week I will keep you updated as the progress continues. One year ago today, Meghan and I brought Remi home from a fun day at the lake to find her not wanting to get out of the car due to pain. We brought her right to the emergency vet, and after getting an x-ray, Remi was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Since Remi was only 6 months old at the time, we elected for surgery to fix the problem so that she didn’t live a life in constant pain. Unfortunately, there was a complication during the surgery and Remi suffered permanent nerve damage, leaving her with limited function of her leg/paw. The vet recommended a place for Remi to get fitted for a custom brace – after a few months in a cast, they made her a brace to help her get around. Fast forward to yesterday – we took Remi on a 3 mile hike, which got us thinking about how thankful we are for My Pet’s Brace. They gave our Remi girl the ability to have as normal a life as possible with her brace. She walks a few miles a day, gets the zoomies in the backyard and around the house, and is able to play with her puppy pals. It has been about 6 months since Cassie ruptured her second ACL and and happy to share this video from a mid-March. As you can see she is not wearing her brace. She has not worn it in about 6 weeks. I just wanted to take a moment and let you know what a difference Carly’s brace has made in the quality of her life and mine. Carly was diagnosed with metastatic cancer last August and the oncology vet predicted one more year. I left that office determined to make it our best year ever. Then in December Carly tore her ACL. I was devastated. We have a doggie door at home with a few steps and Carly loves her independence as well as our walks at the park every morning. It may have taken a couple of back and forth mailings from NC to PA to tailor fit the brace to her leg and time for Carly to adjust to wearing it but it’s all been worth it. Thanks so much for checking in. We have upped his activity to 1 two-mile, and 1 one-mile walk a day and have added varied terrain and hill work to the mix. He continues to be sluggish and disinterested with just our neighborhood walks. He responds really well to short car ride field trips to various parks, schools, church grounds and even just other neighborhoods. There are times on these field trips where he seems like his old self…pulling ahead, tail up, great gait/pace and just generally happy. Our Staffordshire Bull Terrier tore her ACL in November of 2021. We opted to get a brace from my pet’s brace in Tom Rivers New Jersey. From the very beginning, the organization was top notch. Teresa from the Tom’s River location treated our dog like her own. Sophie (our dog’s name) wouldn’t walk at all on her hind leg that was injured. Teresa took the time to explain the process, fitted the cast and taught us how to use it. The whole process took about a month. We religiously use the cast on our long walks. As of September 15th, 2022 we are pleased to tell you that Sophie is walking on all fours and her injured knee is getting stronger every day. She barely has a limp know and has just started prancing around like she used to. She still struggles to run, but we think that will come with time. Bella was the runt of a litter of 7 Anatolian Shepard mix puppies my ANG unit found abandoned in a wadi on FOB Wolverine, Afghanistan, in late 2009. We rescued the puppies and raised them until we could ship them out which was no easy task. Each one was adopted, and I got Isabella. I named her after the Twilight character. Ironically, Bella was unscathed until she was clipped by a hit and run driver on September 13, 2010, after being in the states for only 4 months. A couple of operations later she was still suffering from permanent nerve loss in her right hind leg. It wasn’t until I had her in for an operation at VCA Smoketown that I found out about My Pets Brace. The first brace wasn’t quite satisfactory, so Jim made an upper and lower hinged brace that kept her from twisting her knee joint. The brace improved Bella’s mobility and quality of life immensely. She was able to walk and even trot at times which would have been impossible without the brace. She enjoyed spending hours outside in the sun and shade, sometimes barking at people and cars like a regular dog. Regrettably, the inevitable time came when her health declined and my family and I decided to release her from this world on our terms with the dignity she deserved. She was a fellow Afghanistan veteran, and she was 12 years and 8 months at her passing. My only regret is that I didn’t find My Pets Brace sooner. Thank you, Jim and all the staff, at My Pets Brace. I just want to take a moment to call out one of the most amazing businesses I’ve ever come across. My dog tore his ACLs in both back legs. For the first we did surgery and physical therapy – the whole nine yards. The second time was this past fall, so we opted to go with a custom brace from My Pet’s Brace because he was older and does so poorly with surgery. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish from his appointment for the fitting of his brace to the follow up and ensuring we had it on right, were using it correctly, and reaching out regularly to make sure we had no questions and to see if we needed replacement parts. When they found out of his passing, not only did they send a sympathy card signed by all of the employees but I also received a card a few days later that they planted a tree through Arbor Day Foundation in his memory. Because of the brace, my dog was able to enjoy his two mile walks with no issues the last year of his life and I am so thankful for that! He never would have had that chance without them. I definitely will recommend them for everyone and anyone who is looking at options for their dog! They do braces for other issues and prosthetics as well. What an amazing experience we had! We ordered the casting kit and our vet did the cast and sent it off to My Pet’s Brace. About a week later the brace was delivered to my home. I took Luna back to the vet the next morning to have to fitted to her and learn how to take it on and off myself. When they put the brace on her I IMMEDIATELY saw a difference in her walk and stance. We were very pleased with the service we received with Katie at the Cannonsburg office. She was so helpful and wonderful with our Newfie. Our dog has severe arthritis in a rear leg and was having a lot of difficulty with moving around. The brace has really helped and she can enjoy her walks again. Would highly recommend instead of surgery. My FRL has adjusted to it well, he goes on daily walks, plays in the water, does not favor his other leg with it on. He still has at least 2 months to wear regularly, I plan on him wearing it when we go to the dog park. He has been wearing it since February. The staff at MPB has been very good to work with, they also replaced a strap that I tore. Recovery time was the same as having surgery. Either way the dog is going to build up scar tissue during the healing process. Surgery, most dogs will tear the good other leg from because of favoring the bad one. The brace does not allow lateral movement. Any problems down the road I can resort on the brace and not additional surgeries. (Via Facebook)

Last fall I diagnosed Rosie with a torn CCL. After discussion, her owner elected to have Rosie fitted for a brace rather than to have surgery. Within a few days she was seen and fitted for a supportive brace from My Pet’s Brace. I saw her for her first recheck 5 weeks later and she was already showing signs of stability and improved comfort in her stifle. After 3 months she had regained full stability in the stifle. I can’t even begin to express how thrilled I was to have found My Pet’s Brace! My dog Casey had torn ACL issues in both rear legs. I initially opted for surgery in one leg-and can 1000% say if I had to do it all over again – I would not opt for the surgery. I only wish I had known about this “brace” option beforehand. Katie took extreme care of Casey while quickly casting her for a custom brace. She gave excellent directions on how to help Casey break into the brace, slowly but surely. We have since gotten an additional brace for the other leg and her quality of life has been nothing shy of a miracle. Scarlett’s brace arrived yesterday from the Pittsburgh area location. I had the TPLO surgery done on her other knee 3 years ago. Bear is doing very well using his elbow brace to keep his leg in alignment and to provide additional stability and support. Bear is an elderly Schipperke that broke his leg twice and was not a good surgical candidate for a 2nd plate/pin fixation. He does not seem to mind wearing the brace and he has better mobility and stability while using it. I can’t say enough wonderful things about all of the staff at My Pet’s Brace in Morgantown PA. They are so kind and compassionate. I brought my older standard poodle in to be fitted for a brace and it went well. I was excited to try the brace to help my girl walk again; however, before we got a chance to pick up the brace my sweet Hannah passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. I still don’t know exactly the cause of her passing. After notifying my pets brace of Hannah’s passing, EVERYONE was so supportive and kind. They sent me a very generous partial refund, a sympathy card signed by everyone, and even had a tree planted in Hannah’s honor. For having only been there once, this is true compassion. Tula is going to be 14 years old next month and she is living her best life. 2 years ago today she had a total tear of her CCL (like an ACL in humans). I called My Pets My Pet’s Brace the day after Thanksgiving and I was so grateful they answered the phone! Larkin is my 12.5y golden/chow. He has severe osteoarthritis (OA) in his elbows, hips, and stifles. Due to progressive OA and secondary muscle atrophy, he started to have difficulty walking short distances and getting up on carpet. I was desperate. I wondered if I supported his worst front leg, since unfortunately we can’t effectively support his hips, would it help? It has!!!! So much more than I even imagined. He wears his brace for walks only- 20 minutes twice daily. Walks at the park once a week- 20-30min. Rarely, if I see he is more lame or weaker, I’ll leave the brace on for 4-8 hours, while I’m at work, the next day or two until he recovers. The brace fit perfectly from day one. We have the advantage of his thick undercoat. He has not developed any abrasions. Since I practice physical rehabilitation therapy and Chinese medicine only, I already recommended this to another clinically similar senior patient and a crazy, young front amputee to support his remaining front limb which is already developing significant OA and carpal hyper-flexion. Our experience with My Pet’s Brace has been wonderful, and I highly recommend them. Benji, our rescue dog, tore his CCL, but at about 13 or 14 years old, we did not want to put him through the surgery. Our vet’s first choice would have been to do the surgery, but he offered the brace as a second option when I expressed concern about Benji’s age, potential problems after the surgery, and the cost. I felt like the brace was the only real option, but I was hesitant, picturing some clunky and uncomfortable piece of hardware that Benji would have to wear 24/7 for the rest of his life. He had been active, healthy, and playful up until he tore his CCL, and I was so afraid that he wouldn’t ever get back to that. I looked at the testimonials on this page, and watched some videos, and was greatly reassured. I felt even better after bringing Benji to the office, and meeting our technician, Corrinne, who was friendly and knowledgeable. After just a few minutes in the office, Benji was back with us, and his custom brace arrived about a week later. It is light, and fits his leg like a glove. It didn’t seem to bother him in the least at any point of wearing. Now, over a year since he tore his CCL, he is still active, healthy, and playful. Corrinne tells me that the scar tissue in his leg has built up as much as it ever will, so although a torn CCL doesn’t heal, the leg is stable. Looking at him, you wouldn’t know that he had ever had an injury! He wears the brace when he’s outside, or playing hard inside, but he is no longer on a set wear schedule. I am so incredibly grateful to My Pet’s Brace, and to Corrinne, who ALWAYS answered my emails promptly, kindly, and informatively. When I needed a new strap or other piece for Benji’s brace, it was in my mailbox within about three days. Whenever I called the office, the ladies who answered the phone were so pleasant and helpful. This is Emmie. She had TPLO surgery when she was 6. It was the hardest recovery ever! When she tore her other one, she was 9 and we didn’t want to put her through that again. Our 14-year-old Brittany was diagnosed with a torn ACL and we went the traditional route of surgery. No one told us that there is a 60% chance of failure in the other leg. Fast forward 5 years and sure enough, a torn ACL on the other leg. After hours of online research and talking to specialists, we decided to opt for your brace. After 8 months of daily wear, we needed a new Velcro strap, which you sent, free of charge. Gradually we weaned her off the brace, and today she is brace free. This summer we took her out on the boat for the first time in 2 years. She will now run with our other ABR rescue, Dakota, and keeps up with him. We cannot thank you enough!

We 100% recommend My Pet’s Brace! Our Willow partially tore her ACL at just a year old and we were told she would need a $4000 surgery. Thankfully our vet told us about this alternative option, which not only was cheaper- but way more suited to our lifestyle. From our first visit we felt right at home. The care and time they took with Willow and evaluating her, making her brace, then even readjusting it to fit her perfectly was amazing. They treated her as an individual and she is doing so much better now. It has been about a year and she no longer wears her brace unless we are going on a very long walk or strenuous hike. My 10 year old boy tore his CCL. I went for the brace vs the surgery. this place is great. I drove 2 hours to get my boy here and it was worth the trip. The people here really know what they are doing and are really nice. I would suggest to anyone considering surgery to try this first. its only been 3 weeks and I’m seeing improvement. We want to thank you for providing our boy Bentley with his Brace back in October 2018; its been 1.5 years since he’s been wearing it and yesterday, we hung it up for the last time. Bentley passed yesterday at 11.5 years…115 pound black lab/golden mix, Bentley was one great guy…we loved him so much…and we know how much the Brace made a difference in his life, he never gave us any trouble with wearing the brace after tearing his ACL…actually we saw a huge improvement in his demure. I have to admit the do not often write reviews only if I am mega happy or mega annoyed. But I have been absolutely amazed with a chat service to this company. I live in Scotland and my dog is limping for the past 2 month, vet and the specialist saying ‘suspected partial CCL’, they only done xrays but due Covid19 they are not doing anything else as this not classifies urgent. I am totally off my head as to me my dog being in pain is urgent. I started to look into the subject and on the net braces are widely supported instead of surgery. I uploaded some videos to YouTube and the team had a look and they said that my dog still walking nicely enough no need for a brace as yet. They chatted to me for 90 minutes. Listening me explaining situation, asking question and I was not pressured to buy a brace as they were thinking after reviewing my video that this case does not need it yet. I will get an MRI done once Covid19 is over and vet reopens to non-urgent cases and if it brace needed I will definitely order it from this company. As customer service which I experience today is absolutely amazing and outstanding. I am sure most place will just tried to pushing me into buying a brace. Thank you My Pet’s Brace. (Via Google)

With my dogs first CCL injury we did a course of laser therapy and decided to do a brace as well. Our technician Amy was wonderful. She explained everything in detail and layman’s terms that were easy to understand. The brace fit extremely well and we had no issues at all. We used the brace regularly for about a year, along with some ligament repair supplements (Ligaplex), and he seems to have possibly fully recovered. He has not had a limp or favored not putting weight on it for almost a year now. Now we only put the brace on for strenuous activity. (Via Survey)
